Jackie Kleiner is the HMS School Counselor.

Most parents’ recollection of a counselor is from high school, and memories of class scheduling and college recommendations.  In the first couple of weeks of school, Jackie has been a crucial component in children and families making the transition from summer to school. She deals with a number of students who had some separation anxiety this year,  teaches Second Step lessons in every classroom, and  plays an important role with families who experienced significant change over the summer. In addition, Jackie and Principal Bill Carozza work together when children  who (rarely!) make inappropriate choices that need our attention. In short, like all of our staff members, her role is essential in making HMS an inviting, warm, and safe place to be.

• Clearly, we have too many cars and not enough parking spaces. This is not surprising as HMS has its highest student population in our history. Please do not park along the side of the road the buses use in the morning as this could potentially block access for buses.

The first Principal Podcast of the year is now live at this link from MSS Principal Amy Doyle and Bill Carozza. We’re calling it simply the “Amy and Bill Podcast” because we don’t have a better name. Would you please throw one of us an email with naming ideas for the Podcast? Thanks!
