Brenda Quinn Presentation
**The Neurological and Psychological Benefits of Spirituality for Children**
**A Presentation by Brenda Quinn, LICSW**
In this fast-paced world, full of screen time, stuffed schedules and pressure to accomplish, parents often ask how they can help their children. One in four children in this country are diagnosed with anxiety and/or depression. As a community, we should all be concerned about this apparent trend.
If you knew that you could offer a child the means to:
· Reduce stress
· Reduce anxiety and depression
· Increase a sense of security, compassion and love
· Mold your brain structures to perceive the world in a more hopeful and positive way
· Slow down some of the losses related to the aging process
· Have a happier life with greater wellness (physical and neurological)
Wrapping your child in the scaffolding of spirituality and in a spiritual community has been shown to offer these benefits.
We will look at the science that consistently provides evidence of the potential benefits of committed spirituality. We will discuss the implication of this science for our children and for ourselves. Finally, we will talk concretely about how to bring these benefits into the lives of our children.
