HMS Beginning of Summer News

Here are some thoughts as we end the school year and begin the season of summer:

  • Please check out our Literacy Department and Math Department pages for great ideas on summer academic fun.
  • Our HMS school office will be open much of the summer but the hours may vary. The best bet is to call ahead at 746-3473 but I will post the week’s hours up on the website. You can always email me any question or concern at wcarozza@sau66.org.
  • Are you interested in volunteering, working with sports teams, substitute teaching, or attending field trips? If so, summer is a great time to complete the fingerprinting and background check process required by the state. This process can take several weeks to schedule and be processed. Donna Bowe at the SAU can give you the paperwork you need. Please contact her at dbowe@sau66.org.
  • Parents of departing third graders: your child received both STAR assessment reports and NH Statewide Assessment System scores in their backpacks today. Click here for a special letter regarding these tests.
  • Do you know the most important thing you can do academically for your kids? Have them read just 20 minutes a day. Check out the graphic at the bottom of this page and you’ll see what a difference just 20 minutes makes:
