Increase in Strep Throat

Increase in Strep Throat

Harold Martin School has seen a recent increase in cases of strep throat through all grade levels. Some symptoms, other than a sore throat, are headache, stomachache and fever. If your child is diagnosed with strep throat and prescribed antibiotics, he/she must stay home for at least twenty four hours from the start of the medication. Your child must also be fever free when returning.

Drinking water is very important at this time of year and I would suggest a refillable water bottle for your child rather than drinking from the water fountain is possible. We have water filling stations on both first and second floors of the building.

Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Sheila Conley, School Nurse
